Early last week local stakeholders made southern gateway officers aware that a large encampment had been set up on Hewitt Street. Members of the community informed police that drug users and dealers were coming and going from the area at various different times, often masked and with bikes. Southern gateway officers targeted the area as part of an intelligence led initiative this week and it transpired one of the occupants was wanted for various burglaries, they have since been charged to go to court. I've attached before and after pictures bellow and we will be monitoring the situation. We will be monitoring the situation in the coming weeks.
